Janesville community groups giving away free Easter meals

Local community groups have free meals available this weekend for the Easter holiday.
The Janesville Community Center is giving away complete Easter meals for 50 families who sign up in advance.
Father Earl Sias said they’ve already had more than 50 register, so they will draw names and contact winners starting at 2:00 p.m. Saturday.
The ham, potatoes, fruit, vegetables, dinner rolls and dessert have all been donated or purchased with donations, and volunteer groups from local churches stepped up to pack the food boxes for distribution.
Sias hopes the meal can help bring joy to local families on the holiday. He’s been thrilled by the great response and generosity of the community stepping up to help their neighbors in need.
First Congressional Church in Janesville also has a separate grab-and-go community meal giveaway available Saturday from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. on a first-come, first-serve basis.
