With most people over the age of 65 now vaccinated for COVID-19, the Rock County Health Department says the biggest relative increase in illness can be seen among 50-to-65 year olds. Epidemiologist Nick Zupan says it’s likely because a lower percentage of that group has been immunized compared to those over 65. Zupan does say early indicators are the increase in the number of immunizations overall is positively impacting the trend in confirmed cases. He says after a slight increase over the last couple of weeks, the number of hospitalizations began to decline over last weekend.
