A motorcycle crash closes Henry Avenue in Beloit for several hours.

Police shut down the stretch of road between Fayette Avenue and Chapman Avenue before 10:30 Thursday morning for an accident with two motorcycles and an SUV.

The Wisconsin State Patrol assisted in the crash reconstruction, which found that the motorcycles were speeding when one crashed into the SUV.

The 41-year-old Beloit man was wearing a helmet but suffered “significant injuries” and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Janesville.

Officers cited him for speeding, driving without a motorcycle endorsement, crossing the center line, and driving without insurance.

The driver of the SUV was also cited for operating after suspension, and the other motorcyclist was cited for not having endorsement or insurance.

Henry Avenue reopened after 2:00 p.m.
