Janesville fire fighters respond to a number of small fires Sunday evening. Officials report three fires with minor damage. Firefighters were called out about 6:30 p.m. for to the 300 block of Sunset Drive for burning rice in a microwave. About 9:30 p.m. firefighters were called to the 4200 block of East Milwaukee Street for a basket of clothes on fire in the basement. Damage listed about $200. Firefighters were called out again about 10:00 p.m. to the 1400 block of West Court Street where reports indicated an occupant attempted to toss a lit cigarette butt out the window, but it got caught in the siding, and caused about $1000 damage.
