A review of 2020’s spending by visitors to Janesville shows the area may have fared better than expected.  Janesville Area Convention and Visitors Bureau Executive Director Christine Rebout says overall tourism spending fell just 25% last year.  Rebout says retail spending was a bright spot, actually mitigating losses and helping the region perform slightly better than the state overall by generating some $35 million from visitors.  Rebout says promotional campaigns like “Wisconsin’s Great Outside” and “Shop Local” were a great help.
