The U.S. Food and Drug Administration authorizing use of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 12 to 15 is just the first step in actually getting those shots in arms.
Rock County Public Health Department Communications Specialist Jessica Turner says the CDC Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices needs to review the decision.
Turner says the CDC Director will then review those recommendations before it will go to the State Department of Health Services to decide whether the vaccine will be used for children and teens in Wisconsin.
Turner predicts it will be next week before a final decision is made.
