Milton fire officials are investigating a residential fire southeast of the city. The call came in a little before 4:00 p.m. Saturday in the 4000 block of East Milton Harmony Townline Road. The Rock County Sheriff’s Office reports flames could be seen in the home when firefighters arrived, but it was extinguished before the home was fully engulfed. A preliminary investigation suggests plumbing work earlier in the day may have caused the fire. Foul play is not suspected, and the resident was not home at the time of the fire.
