Janesville police investigate motel robbery

Janesville police are investigating an early morning armed robbery on the city’s north side.  Police say a man with a gun held up the clerk at the Super 8 on Milton Avenue a little after 1:00 a.m. Thursday.  Officers say the robber took cash and escaped on a “bmx” style bicycle armed with a black semi automatic handgun.  The clerk was not hurt.  Police describe the suspect as a white male, 5’10 to 6’00” tall, approximately 150-200lbs, wearing a black sweatshirt with the lettering “CHI6AG0”, black neck gator mask, grey gloves, black pants, and black shoes.  If anyone has any information on the robbery or exterior video surveillance regarding this incident, police encourage them to call Rock County Dispatch at 608-757-2244, Crime Stoppers at 608-756-3636 or leave an anonymous tip using the P3 app on a smart phone.
