Burlington man dies in two-vehicle Walworth County crash

A 70-year-old Burlington man is dead following a two-vehicle crash last weekend in Walworth County.
According to a news release, Walworth County Sheriff’s Deputies and the Elkhorn Fire Department responded to the crash involving a motorcycle and a car on State Highway 11 and Plank Road in the Town of Lafayette just after 11:30 the night of August 7th.
Initial investigation determined that Daniel J. Lust was headed southbound on Plank Road when he failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection with State Highway 11 and was struck by a car operated by 27-year-old Victor Manuel Torres Nieto of Burlington.
First responders found Lust lying in the road with life threatening injuries and was later pronounced dead by the Walworth County Medical Examiner’s Office. Torres Nieto suffered minor injuries.
