
Beloit Memorial High School is placed on soft lockdown before releasing students early due to an unspecified anonymous threat.
According to a joint news release from Beloit Police and the School District of Beloit, officers responded to the high school just after 8:00 Wednesday morning due to an anonymous threat outside the school.
The school was placed on soft lock-down while officers searched for weapons, and students were eventually released early at 1:30 p.m. After school activities and practices were also canceled.
Beloit Police are continuing to investigate the origin of the threat.
