Janesville City Council approves another new Kwik Trip for city’s east side

Another new Kwik Trip is coming to Janesville’s east side.
The Janesville City Council changed its mind and approved a liquor license for the gas station and convenience store project Monday night.
Back in May, the council couldn’t come to an agreement on granting the license, with a split vote among members concerned about the number of liquor stores in the area.
Council member Michael Jackson was the deciding vote, changing his mind from then to now.
A previous iteration of the council removed Janesville’s liquor license quota in January.
The latest Kwik Trip project will go in on Wright Road across from Mercy Clinic East, but it is not scheduled to be completed until the summer of 2023.
