Congressman Bryan Steil is back from Del Rio, Texas where tens of thousands of migrants were recently sheltering under a bridge.
The Janesville Republican says some of those people were returned to their country of origin, but a large number of people who had claims of asylum were released into the United States on a parolee status while they wait for their cases to be heard, which could take years.
Steil says drug cartels are taking advantage of the humanitarian crisis and border patrol agents are overwhelmed.
