A local non-profit is expanding into a new facility.

HealthNet of Rock County purchased a building on South Franklin Street in downtown Janesville to move its services.

The property used to house Rock County’s community support program, which moved into the new Dr. Daniel Hale Williams Resource Center this summer along with other county programs.

HealthNet CEO Ian Hedges said the new location will make them one of the state’s largest free and charitable clinics.

The bigger space will allow the non-profit to expand its dental services, which remains a significant need in the community.

The county is considering allocating some of its American Rescue Plan Act funding to HealthNet to help pay for new dental equipment.
