Rock County is starting to see a slight decrease in the number of new COVID-19 cases reported each day.
Public Health Department Epidemiologist Nick Zupan says at the end of last week, Rock County was seeing about 50 new cases a day, and this week that number is down to about 40 new cases a day.
Zupan says right now there are about 890 active cases in Rock County and there have been 214 deaths due to COVID-19.
Zupan says most recently 21 patients were in the hospital receiving care for COVID-19.
In total about 56 percent of Rock County residents have gotten at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and 53 percent are fully vaccinated.
