A 41-year-old Illinois man, who drove through the Beloit Holiday Lighted Parade, is sentenced on a number of charges. Curtis L. Metz was accused of narrowly missing parade watchers, including children, as he fled from police along the parade route in November of 2019. Court records indicate Metz pleaded guilty to fifth-offense operating while intoxicated, felony fleeing, and first-degree recklessly endangering safety. Additional counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety were dismissed as part of a deal with prosecutors. Rock County Judge John Wood sentenced Metz to four years in prison followed by five-years supervision.
