To support convenient and accessible testing for all, the Rock County Public Health Department will be hosting a COVID-19 RT-PCR testing site at its Beloit location at 61 Eclipse Avenue in partnership with Summit Clinical Laboratories beginning November 8, 2021.
Walk-in and by-appointment testing will be available Monday through Friday from 9am to 4pm. Testing will be available for all ages, including newborns. Patients should bring along ID and, if insured, insurance or Medicare cards. COVID-19 testing will be provided at no out-of-pocket cost to anyone who is having symptoms or thinks they have been exposed.
Summit Clinical Laboratories (summitclinicallabs.com) is part of COVID Connect, the Department of Health Services (DHS) COVID-19 test registration website. For faster service, clients wishing to test at the new RCPHD-Summit Labs Beloit testing site may pre-register with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services COVID Connect website at register.covidconnect.wi.gov. If you need an RT-PCR test required for travel, Summit requests you please let them know before registering.
In the effort to mitigate and contain COVID-19, the importance of continued testing cannot be overstated. Testing remains critically important given the recent increase in virus activity that we have seen locally. Anyone who suspects they may have COVID should get tested at one of the many testing locations available in Rock County, including this new Beloit-based option.
Individuals should get tested if they have symptoms of COVID-19, they have been in close contact with a confirmed case, or they have taken part in activities that put them at higher risk, like travel or attending large gatherings, particularly in poorly ventilated indoor settings.
