Rock County Public Health Department encouraging parents to get their kids vaccinated

corona-virus-2

The Rock County Public Health Department is encouraging parents of children ages five to 11 to take advantage of the COVID-19 vaccine emergency use authorization.

Public Health Strategist Michael Niles says there is a walk-in clinic planned for Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the former Rock County Job Center.

Niles says there have been about 50 reported cases of heart inflammation among the more than 1 million doses administered, and the vast majority of those respond very well to care.

Niles says the vaccine also won’t have any affect on fertility, or cause a person to get COVID-19.
