Local state legislator thinks Wisconsin has a better chance of getting fair maps in federal court

Now that Governor Tony Evers has vetoed the Republican-drawn legislative maps that passed the Assembly and Senate along party-lines, the issue heads to the courts.

45 Assembly District Representative Mark Spreitzer says he expected it all along.

The Beloit Democrat says Wisconsin has a better chance of getting fair legislative maps if they are ultimately decided by the federal courts rather than the State Supreme Court.

Spreitzer says there is a legitimate concern that the State Supreme Court has a four to three conservative margin, so if they sign off on the gerrymandered maps, will be not better off.
