The Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority awards a $41,000 grant to DEFY Domestic Abuse Beloit.

Director of Survivor Empowerment Services Kelsey Hood-Christenson says the shelter is renovating it’s parking lot to include a secure section for residents and staff.

Hood-Christenson says the secure parking lot brings DEFY a step closer to revealing the location of the shelter facility, which would make it accessible to those who can’t get to a phone.
