The U.S. Department of Agriculture gives funds to a new program School District of Beloit’s minority students will benefit from. McNeel Intermediate School Principal Michelle Hendrix-Nora says the funding to support staffing and planning started this year. Hendrix-Nora says 640 thousand dollars will be split between Waukesha, Rock, and Kenosha Counties, but she is unsure how much each county will receive. She says McNeel Intermediate School is excited to partner with University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Extension on the grant, and are appreciative of the opportunities this will afford their students.
