A Janesville police officer is being recognized for helping calm-down a potentially violent situation. Police Chief David Moore has awarded a Letter of Commendation to Officer Ryan Jaremko for his actions on the night of December 5th. A police department release indicates Officer Jaremko spent 30-minutes on the phone with a suspect during a domestic disturbance. Jaremko is being honored for his patience in deescalating the situation and convincing the suspect to peacefully surrender.
