Sheriff’s deputies arrest man on 7th OWI charge

A 37-year-old Brooklyn man is facing charges after being accused of a hit-and-run in the parking lot of a tavern in western Rock County.  The sheriff’s office reports deputies responded to a call for an intoxicated driver hitting another vehicle Friday night at Union Tavern Bar in the 10,000 block of North Highway 14.  Deputies say Kendell R. Copus was located walking along North Highway 14.  A sheriff’s office news release indicates Copus has six previous OWI convictions, making this arrest a felony seventh offense.  Copus is scheduled to appear in court Monday.
