The City of Janesville turns to the professionals for construction management services for the proposed indoor athletic and conference center at Uptown Janesville.
Public Works Director Paul Woodard says the City has issued a request for proposals which are due by February 22nd.
Woodard says the first part of the contract involves value engineering and putting together cost estimates at three different stages of the design phase.
Woodard says the second part of the contract includes construction management oversight which is something the City would typically do itself but because the scope and size of the project the staff isn’t available in house.
Woodard says the City desires to work with a team of creative personnel that understands the needs of indoor athletic facilities, has significant experience with either ice arenas or public sector projects, and can work collaboratively with City staff and the design team to oversee the construction of an efficient and cost-effective facility.
