The Beloit man charged with drunken driving for the 9th time after fleeing a traffic stop on foot last month makes an appearance in Rock County Court.

54-year-old Randall V. Hoyt waived his right to a preliminary hearing on charges of 9th offense operating while intoxicated, possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and resisting an officer Monday morning in Rock County Court.

Court Commissioner Jack Hoag bound Hoyt over for trial and he entered a plea of not guilty.

Hoyt was pulled over in the early morning hours of January 20th near the intersection of St. Lawrence Avenue and Johnson Road, but attempted to escape on foot.

Police say Hoyt was found hiding in a nearby back-yard.

A jury trial is expected to be set for the future.
