Family Services of Southern Wisconsin and North Illinois receives $399,000 grant

A Beloit-based non-profit has an extra $399,000 to help communities disproportionately affected by the pandemic.
The grant for Family Services of Southern Wisconsin and North Illinois is part of $82 million in grants awarded by the State Department of Administration through the Equitable Recovery Grant Program.
Executive Director John Pfleiderer says the money will help expand their Neighborhood Resilience Project.
Pfleiderer says the program helps people stay in their rental unit if possible, but if not, help them find new housing opportunities.
Pfleiderer says what’s equally important, Family Services tries to give clients the resources that allow them to have more options like getting a car repaired.
