
The Rock County Sheriff’s Office is releasing the name of the 30-year-old sun Prairie man accused of causing the head-on crash that killed a local auto racing champion last weekend.
According to a news release, the Rock County Sheriff’s Office and the Janesville Fire Department were dispatched to the report of a crash in the area of West US Highway 14 and North County Highway E in Janesville Township just before 8:00 p.m. on February 11th.
Investigation determined that a vehicle driver by Justin C. Archer of Sun Prairie was headed eastbound when it crossed the center line and struck a westbound vehicle head on.
The driver of the westbound vehicle, identified by his family in a Facebook post as 70-year-old Kevin Olson, was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Sheriff’s Office says the investigation is ongoing and further information about court dates or charges will be released at a later date.
