Six local social service agencies will be able to help their clients with transportation thanks to a new fare program the Janesville Transit System recently rolled out.
Transit Director Rebecca Smith says the JTS Fare Program extended $600 worth of complimentary bus tokens to ECHO, GIFTS, House of Mercy, Salvation Army Rock County, Tokens for Teens, and the YWCA Rock County.
Smith says the program is being funded with a small portion of the City’s American Rescue Plan Act funds.
