By the end of the year, Alliant Energy could be powering 13,000 Rock County homes with solar energy.
Senior Manager of Strategic Projects Tim Kreft says the North Rock Solar Project in the town of Fulton is about 50 percent complete.
Kreft says the cost of utility-grade solar has decreased by about 80 percent over the last decade, so it’s not only environmentally, but also fiscally responsible.
Kreft says the project is an economic catalyst, creating construction jobs, but also through the cost sharing with the communities in which it is located.
