A Beloit shooting suspect waives his right to a preliminary hearing in Rock County Court.
28-year-old Brock Chancy Jr of Beloit is charged with first-degree recklessly endangering safety in connection with a shooting in August of 2021.
According to the criminal complaint, Beloit Police responded to the area of White Avenue and Riverside Drive a little before 10:30 in the evening for a report of a man pointing a gun at a vehicle before firing and driving away.
Police say when they caught up with Chancy, he told them he had a gun, but thought the safety was on before it fired.
In court this week Chancy entered a not guilty plea.
A jury trial is expected to be set for a future date.
