Beloit receives $600,000 in grant funding from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. Water Resources Director Bill Frisbee says before and after the city owned the utility, lead services on the utility side have been getting replaced. Frisbee says about 2500 have been done, and if they have galvanized on their side, they would be eligible to have their service line replaced. He says it’s a great way to help get lead out of the drinking water system. Getting it out will provide health benefits for their residents.
