Orfordville Village Board President Gary Phillips says a petition calling for his recall seems rather foolish.
Phillips the Village would be forced to spend $3000 to $4000 on a recall election in August and his term is up in April.
Phillips says claims that he was responsible for the resignation of Police Chief Brian Raup are one-sided.
A group of Orfordville residents calling themselves Forward Orfordville are circulating a petition to recall Phillips, accusing him of causing the hostile work environment within the police department that led to the resignation of the chief earlier this month.
The group has until May 17th to turn in 151 signatures in order for a special election to be called.
