Candidates planning on running for office in Rock County in the fall will have to wait until the last minute to find out the boundaries of the districts they represent.

The Wisconsin Supreme Court earlier this month ruled in favor of the legislative maps presented by Governor Tony Evers. The U.S. Supreme Court struck down that ruling Wednesday.

County Clerk Lisa Tollefson says the ruling came down just as her office was working to finalize wards for the fall elections.

Tollefson says any changes in wards need to be approved by April 10th as candidates can starting taking out papers on April 15th.

Tollefson says the ruling won’t have an impact on the April 5th election.
