Wisconsin residents needing legal assistance recovering from the pandemic will receive $8 million in grant support. According to a news release, the grant will be made to the Wisconsin Trust Account Foundation Inc. to fund civil legal aid organizations statewide and to build a Wisconsin Law Help website. Children and Families Department Family and Economic Security Division Administrator Connie Chesnik says WisTAF has service providers they work with in the Rock County area. Chesnik says they’ll administer funding so those organizations can access funds and provide legal aid to low income county individuals often most barriered from accessing legal aid and courts. The grant was recently announced by Governor Tony Evers.
