The Beloit City Council unanimously approves the resolution supporting the City of Beloit’s 2022 Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity Grant application. According to a city council memo, the City of Beloit and Ho-Chunk Nation intend to apply for a RAISE Grant to expand Colley and Willowbrook Roads. This includes Willowbrook Road being improved to a four-lane urban section from Stateline Road to Milwaukee Road. City Manager Lori S. Curtis Luther says the rationale for the proposed improvements were based on extensive traffic studies assuming development of Ho-Chunk Nation’s complex. Curtis Luther says the matching portion is $4.4 million and they’re currently looking at a roughly $17 million project size including the local match provided by the Ho-Chunk Nation. She says the reference to the future development agreement is additional traffic improvements anticipated as part of their future build out. She says this is a cooperative project and it required the coordination of both the Nation and the City. The City Council met Monday night.
