The Janesville School Board have reached a decision on who they want as Janesville’s next school superintendent. A release from the School District of Janesville says the board unanimously approves starting contract negotiations with current Manitowoc School District Superintendent Mark Holzman during a special meeting Monday night. Holzman was one of three finalists selected for the superintendent position. Current Janesville school superintendent Steve Pophal will retire at the end of the current school year after serving in the position since 2017. Holzman has been the superintendent of Manitowoc public schools since 2015.
