A Rock County Public Works employee is dead after a freak accident. The Sheriff’s Office reports the incident happened a little after 11:00 a.m. Tuesday as the 61-year-old from Edgerton was driving a dump truck south in the 4900 block of North River Road. Authorities say a large tree fell across the road and hit the truck’s cab. The preliminary investigation suggests the tree fell due to environmental factors and was not being cut-down at the time. The victim was found dead at the scene.
