Nature At The Confluence gives away bare-root oak saplings

Nature At The Confluence invites the public to come and pick up bare-root oak saplings as they celebrate Earth Day and Arbor Day. Rock River Trails Coordinator Therese Oldenburg says oak trees are a fabulous way to restore habitats. Oldenburg says they’re giving them away because they provide food and shelter for animals, bugs and creatures. She says they’ve given away 117,000 trees over, what will be, 12 years they’ve done this along the Rock River and hope they’re making a big impact on the Rock River corridor. Nature At The Confluence is giving away free oak saplings 9:00 a.m. next Friday and Saturday.
