Governor Tony Evers dedicates $50 million of federal funds through the Main Street Bounceback Grant Program to help businesses occupying vacant spaces get up and running. Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation Secretary and CEO Missy Hughes says in Rock County alone, they supported 71 businesses to receive the grant. Hughes says $710,000 went to small businesses in Rock County to help them get running. She says she visited a hair salon in Janesville, and a candy store that got started and it can be seen at the local level the impact it’s having. It’s an on-going program with funds still available and for businesses that started between January 1, 2021 and June 30, 2022.
