2nd suspect takes plea deal in connection with Beloit homicide

A second suspect takes a plea deal in Rock County Court in connection with a homicide in Beloit.
20-year-old Damon E. Allen had been charged with party to the crime of first degree intentional homicide in connection with the shooting death of 25-year-old Drevian Allen in the 1700 block of Porter Avenue in Beloit in June of last year.
Allen and two others are accused of getting into a dispute with the victim over the sale of a used car prior to the fatal shooting.
In Rock County Court last week, Allen plead guilty to a reduced charge of party to the crime of second degree recklessly endangering safety.
At his sentencing hearing Tuesday Judge Karl Hanson sentenced Allen to five years of probation. He received credit for the 308 days he had already spent in the Rock County Jail.
19-year-old Journee Weathers – who police believe was the shooter – plead guilty last month to first degree reckless homicide. He’s scheduled to be sentenced June 16th.
