For the first time, Fort Atkinson provides a City Council Orientation to familiarize new and existing council members with aspects of local municipal government. City Manager Rebecca Houseman LeMire says an established orientation process wasn’t really present before. LeMire says they’ve noticed a need to talk to their newly elected council members, establishing what they expect of council members, understanding what council members seek, hope to do, how staff can assist them in accomplishing those goals, and how they can work together to be successful. Sessions are at the Municipal Building 6:00 p.m. today, May 3rd and May 17th. Facility tours are Friday.
