Wisconsin’s Park Place is named a 2021 Tree City USA for 18 years straight by the Arbor Day Foundation. Janesville Parks Director Cullen Slapak indicates it’s important to them to keep the community’s focus on trees and the importance they bring people whether reducing energy in the summer, soaking up storm water runoff, or cooling streets and sidewalks. Slapak says the Arbor Day Foundation will send them a Tree City USA flag which they’ll take pictures with and fly on Arbor Day. He says they’ll do a tree planting ceremony that day.
