Sentencing is set for next month for a former Mercyhealth Vice President who plead guilty to a three-million-dollar kickback scheme.
Barbara Bortner reached a plea agreement in October of last year in federal court on charges of fraud and tax evasion.
Bortner’s accomplice, Ryan Weckerly of Sycamore, Illinois is accused of sending inflated invoices for advertising to Bortner who was the Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations at MercyHealth.
Bortner is scheduled to be sentenced May 4th at 1:00 p.m. in federal court in Madison.
Weckerly will be sentenced May 17th at 1:00 p.m.
