The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources selects Beloit as an applicant for the Safe Drinking Water Loan Program funding to improve Beloit’s public drinking water system. Beloit Water Resources Director Bill Frisbee says the funding they’re getting right now will replace about 100 water services and the project would have to be completed by the end of the year. Frisbee says they’ll want to continue until all the lead services are out of the system, but don’t have a good estimate yet of how many years that’ll take. The environmental review should take place over the next few weeks and they should receive funds in about a month.
