Janesville City Manager Mark Freitag may be moving on to a career in higher education. According to a post on the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater website, Freitag is one of four finalists for the position of Vice Chancellor for Administrative Affairs. The administrative affairs division includes budget planning and analysis, financial services, facilities planning and management, human resources and diversity, internal audit and quality assurance, police department, risk management, and parking and visitor services. The other finalists are Fort Atkinson School District Director of Business Services Jason Demerath, Piedmont University Senior Vice President for Administration and Finance and Interim Vice President for Enrollment Management Brant Wright, and Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design Vice President of Financial Affairs Brenda Jones. Freitag will be participating in an open forum in Hyland Hall on campus from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. next Wednesday.
