The 36-year-year-old former Beloit man charged with first degree intentional homicide in connection with the December 2020 shooting death of one of his housemates finally has his day in court.
Witness David Henderson who lived in the home with defendant Mario Tucker and victim Dwayne Wiggins was the first to take the stand Monday afternoon.
Henderson testified that Tucker and Wiggins got into a dispute over the use of profanity that culminated in Tucker shooting Wiggins to death in the living room of the rehabilitation home all three lived in on 10th Street in Beloit.
Tucker’s defense attorney Melissa Frost said there’s no question that her client shot Wiggins, but it was because he feared for his safety.
The trial is expected to last until Thursday.
