Janesville City Manager Mark Freitag receives a unanimous vote of confidence in support from the City Council. President Paul Benson says currently, nothing happens next for Janesville, and it would depend on if Freitag is offered and accepts a job from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Benson says the process is still going and the city would be waiting to see how that process unfolds. He says if Freitag was offered and accepted a job from UW-Whitewater, Janesville would search for a new city manager, but that’s a big “if” and “when”. The closed session took place on Friday.
