A skeleton found in a Rock County wooded area 27 years ago has finally been identified. Rock County Sheriff Troy Knudson announces Tuesday DNA evidence reveals the remains to be those of Carl Junior Issacs, Jr. Knudson says Issacs was a city of Delavan resident who was 20 years old at the time of his death. An investigation led to the DNA Doe Project identifying a potential candidate from the remains found by hunters in a wooded area along Turtle Creek in Bradford Township in November of 1995. The young man’s remains became known as “John Clinton Doe”. A pair of half-siblings contributed DNA to aid in the identity process, as well as the exhumed remains of Issacs’ father. Knutson says, now that the skeletal remains have been identifies, the case involving Issacs will now turn to how and why he met his end at that location. The Sheriff’s Office also seeks more information regarding Issacs. Anyone with that information is asked to contact the Rock County Sheriff’s Office tipline at 608-757-7911, with information on case number 95-7116.
