Test results for Janesville’s drinking water show no PFAS and PFOA compounds were detected. Water Utility Superintendent Craig Thiesenhusen says as a community, they don’t have to worry about having those chemicals in the water. Thiesenhusen says if they did, then that would trigger them to do some kind of treatment to remove those chemicals which, at that point, would increase their costs and labor, adding chemicals and treatment. He says ways to remove the chemicals are present, but fortunately they don’t have to worry about doing that. Chemicals were not detected for the third consecutive year.
