Fire Destroys Home, Cars in South Beloit

Firefighters respond to a large house fire in South Beloit  late Saturday afternoon.  The blaze broke out in the 15600 block of Bryden Drive in South Beloit at around 4 P.M.  A call from the Mutual Aid Box Alarm System sent first responders from across northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin to the scene to fight the fire.  The two-story house and multiple cars near the house sustain significant damage.  Nobody was in the house when firefighters arrived.  The blaze was controlled in about an hour, with one of the firefighters suffering a minor injury.  The fire remains under investigation, with no cause of the blaze yet determined.
