A vacant gas station on the south side of Janesville could be getting new life soon.
Janesville Senior Planner Brian Schweigl says the property owner at 1747 Center Avenue has already removed the underground gas tanks and fueling canopy.
Schweigl says the developer is looking to construct a new multi tenant retail building that would include a drive-thru sandwich shop, a small grocery store, a barbershop, and office space.
If approved, it would triple the size of the building, with two separate additions.
The Janesville Plan Commission will hold a public hearing before considering a conditional use permit for the project at their meeting Tuesday evening.
